Ramon's Story
[Back to Index]
Ramon had been at Club Orient for several years. He used to belong to a waitress at Papagayo and occasionally followed her to work from Mt. Vernon.
When this girl had a baby she adopted Ramon out to an American neighbor living in Mt. Vernon. However, Ramon's habits were set and he thought life at Club Orient was pretty nice. He would often disappear for several days, presumably to go home to Mt. Vernon and rest up. He was sometimes sighted happily trotting down Orient Bay towards Mt. Vernon...but he always came back...until June (2004).
Ramon attached himself to us and would accompany us on our morning walks along the bay. He was very polite, never stepping across the threshold of our mini-suite. He also would go swimming with us and try to catch the angel fish as we fed them stale baguettes.
In January 2006 -- Ramon returned to Orient, was adopted by Susan, and is now leading the good life in the US. He even has his own site at
www.ramonsxm.net.
