Coral's Story

[Back to Index]

Coral used to hang out at Orient, then she went missing in March 2005. Found and adopted in April 2005, she headed to Maine in company with island cousin, puppy Mikey, where they now live together.

Her ears are usually pointed and held high which makes her look foxy. First sited February 2005. Female, 35-40 lbs., maybe Basenji mix, about 9 months old. We had her spayed. Long pointed ears...very "Foxy" looking. Very sweet, lovable dog... still a puppy. Is happy and smiles all the time and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Loves other dogs, loves all people. Loves to play in the surf and is a great swimmer.

She likes to swim with us at Orient and rest on my styrofoam noodle. Had great concern for Gus when he was recuperating from his wounds and spent much time just nuzzling him and lying beside him. Sometimes jumps up on you like a puppy would but this is her only negative behavior. It was easy to discourage this behavior and she quickly gave it up. Once we started giving her attention she stopped jumping. Gets along well with other dogs.
