Buddy's Story
[Back to Index]
Buddy was adopted in Oct. 2006 after a long hot summer. Many people fell in love with his friendly, goofy, puppy-like personality but
the temps were too hot and the airlines refused to transport him. Finally the temps dropped a bit and Buddy quickly found a home.
Buddy (the black doggie on the floor) is pictured here with his new family, including Sandi, his doggy sister. She loves him now.
She tried to bully him at first and was very jealous...and he politely took it. But one day she stepped over the line and Buddy aggressively
confronted her and said "That's enough! Chill out or I'll eat you in 2 bites! Now, let's share these nice people, be friends and have some fun."
The little B---- meekly replied "Sure, Bud. Why not?" And they lived happily ever after.
5/3/07 BUDDY UPDATE:
Buddy has gained 10 lbs since we adopted him and he has learned to play. Something I don't think he ever really did before. Even though he has a big back yard to run in he has really become a lover of being inside and he has several favorite sleeping spots including his big zebra pillow, the cool tile floor and under our bed at night (he snores terribly).
He still does not like to ride in the car; I really think he wants to go but is afraid he won't come back so always chickens out on us. I just can not force him. The only time I do is when he goes to the vet where he is true celebrity being the only "Coconut Retriever" as a client.
He loves all the neighbor kids and I don't have to worry about him with them he is so gentle. He loves me but he REALLY loves his daddy and boy (our son Brennan). His favorite time of the day is evening when he and daddy go running/walking. As soon as the nightly news goes off he just starts prancing. We have never regretted adopting Buddy even though taking on another dog was not in our plan. Here is the latest picture of him.
